Focus on your Talents
Everyone has something and can do something, each one of us has a talent. The number of talents doesn’t really matter, it’s what you do with what you have.
Talents grow only if they are used. Be faithful in using your talent. The various types of talents include; Good Brains and understanding, Speech Influence Time Health Strength, and Money.
Have great SELF ESTEEM or Self Appreciation
There are many things that may not happen unless we do something, you are your own best friend and enemy. God in so many ways has said yes in your life. What are you saying to yourself? We are all important therefore we need improvement we need to be better than we are.
There are several things that affect the way we think about ourselves. These include genetic makeup which takes about 10%, the environment taking 30%, and finally the individual initiative which takes the whole 60%.
Individual initiative…….
Avoiding feelings of inferiority
We should by all means avoid the feeling that causes inferiority
Signs of inferiority:
- Nothing that you do succeeds
- Cannot express yourself
- Being used by others
- Never makes Decisions
- Irresponsibility
- Worry
- Doubts
- Pride/ Envy
Overcoming Temptations
Higher powers such as reason will and conscience are encouraged to help individuals fight off temptations while overcoming lower powers like desires and Appetite.
Using Your Talents for God
The Bible encourages Christians to be “faithful stewards” of our God-given gifts. Using your talents for God can help you find purposeful work and share God’s love. Depending on what your gifts are, you will most likely be using those talents in different ways.
Look for opportunities to serve God and use your gifts in your daily life. Using your talents for God might not look the same every day. Some days you may notice exactly how God is working through your talents; other days it may be more behind closed doors and you may not see how your gift is affecting others.
Even though we might identify our potential through what I suggested. It is pertinent that we develop it. We can develop it by acquiring more knowledge in the field of our passion, praying, meditating on the word of God, finding good mentors, attending workshops, seminars, conferences, buying tapes, books, and DVDs, and reading the biographies of great people who came before us. Proverbs 24:5 says “A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.”
Lastly, always pray for direction and God’s guidance through the Holy Spirit.
